French Toast Breakfast Sliders

If you’re looking for a fun breakfast to cook on the Blackstone, these French Toast Breakfast Sliders are a great way to feed a group at the campsite. They’re sweet, savory, cheesy, and just the right size for a handheld breakfast.

French toast breakfast sliders made with Hawaiian sweet rolls, filled with seasoned eggs, breakfast sausage patties, cheddar cheese, and drizzled with maple syrup, cooked on a Blackstone griddle.

This recipe takes classic French toast and turns it into breakfast sandwiches by using Hawaiian sweet rolls as the base. The rolls get dipped in a quick French toast mixture, cooked on the griddle until golden, and then stacked with eggs, sausage, and cheese.

The combination of the sweet rolls, savory sausage, seasoned eggs, and a little drizzle of syrup makes these sliders the perfect mix of sweet and salty.

They’re also great for camping because you can cook everything right on the Blackstone and make a dozen sliders at once, which is perfect when you’ve got hungry campers waiting for breakfast.

Whether you're cooking at the campground or at home in your backyard, these breakfast sliders are a fun way to start the day.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls (12 rolls)

  • 3 eggs

  • ½ cup Cinnabon coffee creamer

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pre-cooked breakfast sausage patties

  • Cheddar cheese slices

  • Lumberjack seasoning

  • Butter or oil for the griddle

  • Maple syrup

How to Make French Toast Breakfast Sliders

1. Prepare the rolls

Slice the entire pack of Hawaiian sweet rolls in half horizontally so you have a top and bottom layer for your sliders.

2. Make the French toast mixture

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, Cinnabon coffee creamer, and vanilla extract.

Dip the cut sides of the rolls into the mixture so they soak up the French toast batter.

3. Cook the French toast rolls

Heat your Blackstone or flat top griddle over medium heat and add a little butter or oil.

Place the rolls cut-side down on the griddle and cook until golden brown.

4. Cook the eggs

Pour beaten eggs onto the griddle to form one large flat egg patty. Season with Lumberjack seasoning and cook until set. Once cooked, cut or break the egg into pieces that will fit onto each slider.

5. Heat the sausage

Warm the pre-cooked breakfast sausage patties on the griddle.

6. Assemble the sliders

Layer the bottom half of the rolls with egg, sausage patties, and cheddar cheese.

Place the top rolls on and drizzle a little maple syrup over the sliders for that sweet and savory flavor.

Easy Ingredient Swaps

These sliders are easy to customize depending on what you have.

You could swap the sausage for:

  • bacon

  • ham

  • turkey sausage

You could also try different cheeses like:

  • American

  • pepper jack

  • Colby jack

Or add extras like:

  • sautéed onions

  • hash browns

  • hot sauce

Why I Love Making These at the Campsite

These breakfast sliders are one of those meals that gets everyone excited when they smell it cooking on the griddle. They’re quick to make, easy to grab, and the mix of sweet French toast with savory sausage and eggs just works.

When you’re camping with family or friends, it’s a simple way to make a big breakfast without a lot of effort.

And anything that involves Hawaiian rolls and melted cheese usually disappears pretty fast around the campsite.
